We love to install or replace ceiling fans, so much we do them for $79 indoor or outdoor. The price can go up a little bit if you need a longer down rod, or a remote control ($15 extra) configured, or a really tall ceiling. Unfortunately, we don't run wires for new fans, we can refer an electrician if this is a new location.

HOW DO CEILING FANS WORK?
One of the most important aspects of using a ceiling fan is understanding how they work. You may not know this, but ceiling fans are designed to be used in both hot and cold weather.
A control mechanism allows you to change the direction of the fan’s rotation in order to either push air downward or pull it upward—depending on the season and your personal comfort.
During the summer, your ceiling fan’s blades should rotate clockwise in order to cool the room.
When a ceiling fan’s blades rotate clockwise air is pulled up towards the ceiling, creating a draft and having an evaporative effect on your skin (making the room seem cooler than it really is).
During the winter we recommend setting your ceiling fan to rotate clockwise. Doing so will circulate warm trapped near the ceiling downwards into the rest of the room without creating too much of a breeze against your skin.
Ceiling Fans Improve Year-Round Comfort
Did you know that your ceiling fan can also keep you warm in the winter? Its widely known that ceiling fans can be used in the warmer months to circulate cool air. However, by reversing the direction that the blades are spinning, the resulting effect will be warm air being pushed down and circulated.
Ceiling Fans Are Energy Efficient
Ceiling fans not only help keep rooms more comfortable but are energy efficient and can help reduce the cost of energy bills in your home. Helping cool a room or area during the summer and keep it warm during the winter, the average ceiling fan runs on 75 watts (W) of electricity, while the average window-mounted air conditioner uses 1,000W and the average central air conditioning unit using 3,000W.
How to Size Your Fan for the Room
- 50 square feet or less: 30 inch ceiling fan
- 51 to 100 square feet: 36 inch ceiling fan
- 101 to 200 square feet: 42 inch ceiling fan
- 201 to 400 square feet: 52 inch ceiling fan
How Far Above The Floor Should My Fans Be?
Most manufacturers and electrical companies recommend between 8 and 10 feet above the floor. When installing a ceiling fan on a ceiling that’s eight feet high we recommend purchasing hugger type fans to keep it closer to the ceiling.
Taller ceilings or pitched / angled ceilings will require a down rod.
